Duties include:

  • Evaluating hardware and software requirements and providing recommendation for purchase or lease.
  • Developing, updating and maintaining the Systems Design Engineering Computer Control Plan.
  • Coordinating technical support with Information Systems for hardware, software and networking problems and repair.

    Contracts: Design, manufacture and qualification of nuclear energy safety protective systems.

    Provided technical and administrative direction to respective components to meet contractual commitments. Initiate and participate in the preparation of projects schedules and costs. Evaluate and measure program of work in relation to schedules and budgets. Establish and maintain effective liaison with the customer, local management, and division headquarters. One of three project engineers, my primary assignment was to manage GE's first solid state nuclear energy safety system project.

  • Acting computer operations supervisor of 13 people (data entry operators, programmers, and systems operators) which supported administration, engineering, and manufacturing. (Hewlett-Packard HP3000 computer system)

  • Generating engineering documents (calibration and maintenance procedures) to NASA and military specification standards.

  • Liaison to USAF Primary Measurement Laboratories and select manufacturers providing specialized calibration support.
  • Originally assigned to Vandenberg Test Center as metrology engineer to provide technical supervision and support of the new metrology laboratories for the USAF Manned Orbiting Laboratory (M.O.L.) program. Successfully justified all metrology test support equipment in Air Force negotiations. Slated to supervise all other metrology engineers at Vandenberg Test Center.

    Instrumentation Group: Provided instrumentation engineering support to Mechanical Engineering Group which was responsible for product acceptance testing of cryogenic hardware for NASA. Designed master patch panel in test facility. Provided instrumentation engineering requirements and real-time support to computer programmers during acceptance tests. Provided technical supervision of instrumentation laboratory and test technicians.
