The North Abama Narcolepsy Assocation is an educational and service organization dedicated to improving awareness and education about narcolepsy. Our services are aimed at improving the quality of life for narcoleptics and their families, supporting improvements in health care provider services, and early detection.
For narcoleptics and their families, we will provide education and information exchange on recent advances and techniques for dealing with the disorder and their quality of life. To accomplish this, we will:
provide internet communications
develope a newsletter
For healthcare providers, we will support awareness and sharing of the latest research materials. To accomplish this, we will:
provide subscriptions to narcolepsy journals
encourage research efforts in North Alabama
For the lay public, we will work to improve understanding of the disorder and recognition of the symptoms with:
information directed at educators
information directed at youth leaders
We are the instigators behind this effort:
Bob Wilson, 256-881-6574 (h), email@example.com
Bob has been married to Holly, his narcoleptic wife, for 23 years. On December 2000, he read an interesting question on the internet "Does anyone know of a support group in the Huntsville, AL area?" and decided to help to find a better answer.
